Queensland Early Motorcycle Sports Club - Ordinary Meeting 349

8 December 2009

Discussion Points

  1. Pre meeting X’mas break up – nibbles & Pizza
  2. Report on Christmas function - combined with M/C Sportsmen
Action Point: Chase up Christmas Party for next year much earlier. Reminder set for June meeting.
  3. By Bernie S. - QEMSC revenue raising into the future – Swap Meet ??
    Ian Milton  -
I recall there was some suggestion that we have one with the proposed drag meeting at Warwick - good venue - plenty of room. Can't see Lakeside being feasible and I think Mt. Cootha is probably not appropriate. Maybe one at the Stanthorpe meeting could also work however space might be a problem. What ever we decide we would need to start promoting it now.
  4. Graham Castledine advised that Lap Timing Transponder brackets are now available for purchase from himself or Nancy for $10. It was generally a agreed each racer should buy one & have it permanently attached on fork leg.
  5. M/C Sportsmen have advise they will be using the 2nd Stanthorpe race day for their annual “Motard” event. Therefore it seems there will not be an opportunity for a 2nd QEMSC/SBL road race meeting at Stanthorpe.
Action Point: Secretary to write to Southern Downs Council pointing out that QEMSC would like more race dates at Stanthorpe & the financial advantages for the township of the extra weekend visitors.
  6.  Announcement by the President that the winner of QEMSC Clubman Trophy for 2009 is David Vincent for his hard work and efforts on the website & general enthusiasm in promoting the sporting activities of the Club.
  7. Graham Osbourne raised the matter of the unfortunate closing of Mike Hatcher Park, by the Gold Coast City Council. Action point: Club to write letter of protest to Gold Coast City Council.
  8. New member David Tye thanked David Vincent & Tony Jacobs for their support and advice on his getting involved in historic racing.
  9. Fraser McMillan instigated a motion that QEMSC members vote on paying $100 per bike for each Club member’s bikes competing in the Phillip Island Classic, as a contribution to their racing expenses.
Voting was a show of hands in favour of the Motion.
  10. John Munns asked if Mt Cootha event was happening again & if  QEMSC was involved – replies to the affirmative. The Bris City council is committed to supporting the event for next 5 years.
  11. Graham Castledine asked if Club would like the use of electronic lap timing at July’s Stanthorpe event. – The general consensus was in favour.
  12. Future Historic Meetings: Were read out by secretary:
