Discussion Points

 

  1. Noel Peck spoke to Ron Clarke , Mayor GCCC on a Gold Coast Radio station & after regarding the demise of Mike Hatcher Park. Perhaps with the help of QEMSC submission to the council, the Park has a reprieve from closure. Noel also spoke to Ron regarding Reidy Creek. He pointed out that in both cases the needs of our youth to viable closed motorcycle recreation areas rather than illegal street & trail riding.
  2. Clarification of availability of transponders from Castledines at any “”live timing” race meetings.
  3. Elaboration of Morgan Park track extensions by John Munns
  4. Bert Skuce expressed his disappointment that 2010 Vic Champs are only to be a 1 race event with preceding races over that meeting not counting towards the Championship. Tony Jacobs pointed out that Hist.Road Race Committee has endorsed a change to 2011 MOMS that each Australian Championship events shall consist of “2 to 3 races for each class”.
  5. David Vincent’s proposal for appointment as Event Co-coordinator for the upcoming Stanthorpe meeting was accepted by the Race Committee. The committee members asked that they and the club executive be kept up to date with proceedings by email &/or phone conference calls. David’s suggestion to include a Regularity event would need to be checked with MQ to determine if additional licences/permits/insurance would be required. It was agreed that a minimum of 10 “Regularity” competitors would need to justify running the event.
  6. Discussion & noting that any club “rider grants” for future events should be on a “per rider” basis, NOT “per bike”.
  7. John Downs – Leyburn Sprints, 21/22 August 2010. – Possibility of return of (QEMSC) motorcycles to the event. MQ needed to give their approval & permits for organiser’s & rider’s insurance coverage. Several members indicated they would be interested.
  8. SEQ Historic events for QEMSC support…Tony J.  – Members decided that the club should primarily support 4x M/C Sportsmen’s Historic events: 8-9 May Bears/Historic meeting, 24-25 July QEMSC Interclub meeting at Stanthorpe & the two QRR Champs events 5-6 June & 2-3 Oct.
  9. MQ has called for agenda items for May 2010 Commission meetings. Closing date 14 April.
    Tony J suggested that the Historic Sub Committee would be suggesting:

“Approved parts” database.

Database of Commission rulings & MA rulings.

Database of scrutineering decisions.

Tony J suggested members submit further suggestions at next club meeting.

  1. Ray Clacher announced a General Meeting of MQ at M/C Sportsmen’s clubrooms for those interested in being involved as officials on 16th and 17th March. Details/enrolments are available from Kim Rowcliffe in the MQ office (kim.rowcliffe@mqld.org.au )..
  2. Noel Peck mentioned the need for updating of the “Club information” sheet & he is to get quote on stickers.
