Queensland Early Motorcycle Sports Club - Ordinary Meeting 353
11 May 2010
Discussion Points
- Request from International Entertainment Group Pty Ltd calling for riders for Historic Classes at Aust. Superbike round on the “Clubman’s circuit” at Queensland Raceway on June 3 to 6. Discussion resulted in general dismissal of the request primarily due to the late notification & that the “Clubman’s Circuit” was far away from most spectators.
- Members reports from racing at Qld Historic Champs last weekend.
- Queries from Dave Vincent’s “Time Line” & “Check List” for Stanthorpe July Interclub meeting – brooms sawdust & one day licences are organised.
- Motion carried that “In order to be eligible for financial assistance from QEMSC to attend interstate historic racing events, a QEMSC member must be able to demonstrate that they have been competing in, or working as a volunteer/official at local events within the previous twelve months.”
- Suggestion that that the current club membership cost of $20 is ridiculously cheap and that it be raised - to be included for discussion at AGM
- It was decided that instead of a QEMSC social BBQ, QEMSC would join with M/C Sportsmen for a social BBQ at the Rauber Road track facility on 11th July
- Motion carried that QEMSC offer FREE Club membership for interstate & new riders interested in riding at QEMSC Interclub Meeting in July at Stanthorpe Interclub meeting, July 24th & 25th, 2010
- Emailed query: Is anyone organising shipping of bikes to Historic Champs in Sept – Unknown at this stage perhaps Damien Kavney would know?
- Advice given that Motorcycling Queensland will be conducting the following Officials Training Seminars at the Motorcycling Queensland offices, Ipswich, on the weekend of 22nd & 23rd May 2010: Scrutineer & Race Secretary Officials Seminars.
Sunday 23rd May: Practice Supervisor’s Seminar.
- MQ’s Advice given that they will be conducting a Strategic Planning meeting following their AGM at Ipswich offices on Wed 12th May. Laurie Foley volunteered to represent QEMSC at this meeting.
- Following on from email from Steve Robbins (owner of Rob North Tridents) a suggestion from Bernie S. that the Historic Road Race Sub Committee consider a proposal to MA for inclusion of production motorcycle classes. It could encourage those with restored bikes to enter them in competition where under current regs they are outclassed. General feeling was that “production bikes” would generally better suit “Regularity Events”.
- Advice re garages at PI 20120 Historic Champs:
the “new” garages at had already been booked out. There were still some “old” garages available.
- Further discussion of QEMSC support of Rauber Road road race track proposal. It was suggested that QEMSC show its support of the concept but wait till further approvals are given before committing to any financial support.
There being no more GB, Ordinary Meeting Closed at 9.20 pm.
