Discussion Points
- Stanthorpe race committee rejected using www.nominate.com.au for this year’s meeting.
- Member reported back from M/C Sportsmen that if there were more than 36 entries per event at the Historic Champs that more heats would be put on to cater for the entries. Also that they will probably lower the entries for 2nd bikes to approx. $20 per bike.
- Member looking at date for the Pro Honda/QEMSC Sausage Sizzle.
- Member’s concerns of Entrant’s getting little value from being involved. Reckons it needs to be raised with MA for their opinion & perhaps guidelines to clubs.
- Historic Road Race Forum – a motion was raised & passed that QEMSC sponsor a representative (in addition to any MQ’s rep) to be involve
- Member suggested he would send a letter of support to Sunshine Coast Noisy and Hard-to-Locate Sports Study.
- Motorcycling Queensland Elections Message.
The Historic Sub Committee was re-elected unopposed: - Tony Jacobs, Fraser McMillan, John Munns, Wayne Skyring, Robert Walker.
Road Race Sub Committee was elected unopposed– Leo Cash, Drmsby Middleton, Rory Wheeler, Tom Williams. & Shane Dee (Nth Qld Delegate)
- Vice president trying to facilitate a meeting with other local (road race) clubs regarding licensing of Lakeside for motorcycling events & to prompt more positive involvement by MQ.
- Member gave a report on MQ AGM – Very quick elections. Talk by (State) Govt representative on how to grow membership of clubs. Enduro clubs were (also) having problems getting venues for their events.
- Notice of a Ch 7 promo on the Mt Cootha Classic, coming up on “The Great South East”. 33 solos 5 outfits entered.
- Motion was put up that the club purchase a “Quickshade” or similar, for use at club activities was rejected. No seconder.
- Motorcycle Sportsmen were very thankful to have QEMSC assistance ($5000) in promoting Aust Historic Champs. No response as yet on profit sharing %age of a further $5000.
- President announced that QEMSC July 09 Stanthorpe race meeting was locked in with the Owner.
- Member raised matter of possible involvement of club members in 2010 Pukakoe Historic meeting on 5-7th Feb & Hampton Downs meeting, 20kms away, the following weekend. John to make enquiries.
- Member raised discussion on Territory Challenge in Aug. & possible transport deal.
- Member suggested QEMSC send out a questionnaire to all current (130) Qld Historic Log Book holders on what’s happening with their bikes & try to generate more racing participants.
- Member asked how long it took to get a Historic Log Book –discussion followed.
