April 09 meeting Discussion Points
- Discussion – MOMS 15.3.4…Extra engine side covers are NOT required for historic bikes.
- Discussion on Silencing/Muffler ruling. Still limited to 102 dB but according to MOMS also needs to look like exhaust is muffled. A member is certified Noise Tester & offered to have the meter at Stanthorpe meeting
- Member advised sub committee meeting for Historic Championships is on 21/4/09
- Printing of club brochures are nearing completion.
- On using NOMINATE for Stanthorpe meeting – race committee to decide if warranted
- Discussion re member’s concern that M/C Sportsmen have limited Aust Historic Champs to 36 entries per event, what happens if there are more?? Race Committee to check with M/C Sportsmens race committee.
- Member’s concerns that M/C Sportsmen were charging $225 per event entry fee for Qld Historic Champs. In fact it is $225 entry +$100 for each additional class. There was a discussion on whether this was “too much” & not promoting cheap racing.
- Member advised extended entry period for “Cootha Classic” to the end of April.
- Member raised matter of M/C Sportsmen doing their best to make the Aust Historic Champs a success.
Motion - That QEMSC should offer to “sponsor” the event with a donation of $5000, also another loan of $5000 on a proportional profit sharing basis if needed.
- Discussion of painting of bikes requiring change of photo in Log Book. It was generally accepted that it didn’t.
- Member advised Pro Honda and Highside Leathers offered support for a “Sausage Sizzle” to raise awareness of QEMSC & Historic Champs. He would arrange a date.
- Member suggested there could be use of a Parade Lap at Historic Champs for those that wanted a “lap” but didn’t want to race.
- President called for volunteers for running of Stathorpe meeting July 25th & 26th – Two members volunteered; will do draft supp regs.
- Member suggested that promoters encourage extra entries by making it cheaper to enter multiple bikes so that ALL classes have a at least minimum entries. Members to check with M/C Sportsmen race committee.
- Member’s report on Broadford’s Vic Champs & Barry Sheene Festival at Eastern Creek.
- Member’s issue of licensed Entrants not getting encouragement to be involved. Little of benefit is provided for them – a local club doesn’t even give extra pass for Entrant at a recent Morgan Park meeting – needs to be raised with MQ/MAQ
- Member gave a report on the TV coverage arranged for the Mt Cootha classic
